The successful candidate will be required to work within a 24x7x365 shift pattern and must be able to display flexibility and commitment.
Core aspects of the job include:

  • Maintaining the security of the data centre
  • Greeting customers on arrival, escorting them to racks and providing assistance when necessary
  • Installing servers into racks
  • Commissioning new hardware on behalf of clients
  • Acting as intelligent hands on behalf of clients
  • Connecting LAN interfaces and laying network cables
  • Loading Operating Systems and drivers
  • Liaising with internal teams to highlight and resolve operational issues/improve performance
  • Liaising with other groups involved in delivery of service and providing updates to the management
    team when required
  • Ensuring detailed handover is conducted at beginning and end of shifts
  • Contributing towards technical training/induction documentation, technical guides and publications when required
  • Monitoring workflow and ensuring tickets are responded to in a timely fashion
  • Using network management tools to monitor network status to ensure maximum network performance and service availability
  • Undertaking specific projects and tasks relating to the role
  • Identifying and developing personal areas of lack of knowledge in order to offer the most efficient and effective service to customers
